What did America’s Got Talent Season 19 Golden Buzzer winner Richard Goodall share?

Goodall, a janitor for more than 20 years, won the America’s Got Talent Season 19 Golden Buzzer and secured his spot on the live shows. While his performance stunned everyone, Richard also got quite emotional when Heidi Klum pressed the Golden Buzzer for his performance.

In his interview with Parade, Richard revealed that he had never been on a plane before and shared his journey from being a janitor to America’s Got Talent season 19 Golden Buzzer.

“Just wasn’t on my radar. So, that’s basically what happened.”

Goodall has worked at Chauncey Rose Middle School for about 23 years. It is three blocks from his home, and he has sung to the kids for years. In 2022, one day, a teacher asked him if he wanted to sing on Veteran’s Day. Richard agreed and sang Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey.

One of the teaching assistants in the audience filmed his performance. The next day, when he was scrubbing the 1st-grade floor, he learned that his performance video had 100,000 views, and before he knew more, there were over a million views.
