Night one of America’s Got Talent: The Champions featured outstanding talent from around the world and some favorites from here in the U.S.

The lineup for the night was Alex Magala, Bianca Ryan, Justice Crew, Preacher Lawson, Sara & Hero, Sofie Dossi, Susan Boyle, The Clairvoyants, Uzeyer Novruzov and Vicki Barbolak.

But there was only one Golden Buzzer for the night and Mel B used it to put Susan Boyle automatically through to the semifinals.

The Britain’s Got Talent 2009 runner-up performed “Wild Horses” by The Rolling Stones and got a standing ovation from both the audience and the coaches.

Simon Cowell told her, “I can’t think of any other contestant who has defined this show better than you if I am being honest with you. You’re the one. You made a huge difference to a lot of people and I’m absolutely thrilled that you are here.”

“That moment of watching you show up and sing is the epitome —  we use that as vernacular at AGT. We say, ‘I want that Susan Boyle moment. I want that jaw-dropping moment,’ because you are what the show is,” Howie Mandel added.

But it was Mel B who had the night’s Golden Buzzer and before she pressed it, sending confetti streaming all over the stage, she said. “I just want to say what an absolute honor and a pleasure it is to be sitting here and listening to you your angelic voce.  I want to be the woman who gives you something that she deserves.”

When host Terry Crews asked for Susan’s reaction, she simply said, “Very happy and very humble. Thank you very much.”
