VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – On Friday, the community celebrated Richard Goodall. He’s been a custodian with the Vigo County School Corporation for more than 20 years.
But you’ll probably recognize him as the winner of America’s Got Talent earlier this week this week.
Goodall answered some questions from the crowd. School and community leaders also spoke at the event.
The mayor’s chief of staff presented Goodall with the key to the city. He told us that it’s still not fully sunk in that he won.
“You guys put me through to the next round, and I left it all out on the stage. I did everything I could every single time. Not only did I try to pull through for you guys, you guys pulled through for me,” Goodall said.
He says he hopes to buy a house with his new wife, Angie.
