Both Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are set to be suspended after tonight’s fight, regardless of the result.
The 27-year-old YouTuber turned boxer will be taking on a 58-year-old Tyson, as Netflix host their first ever live broadcast at the 80,000 capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Paul said he wants to face off against the ‘old savage Mike‘ and appears to be relishing the challenge.
Meanwhile, Tyson has made it clear that the ‘talking is done’ after he slapped the content creator across the face during last night’s weigh in.
As security raced in to separate the fighters, a rattled Paul said: “I didn’t even feel it, he’s angry. He’s an angry little elf.
“Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap, buddy, but tomorrow you’re getting knocked the f*** out.
“I’m f***ing him up, Ariel, I’m f***ing him up. He hits like a b****… It’s personal now, it’s personal now. He must die!”
Although this isn’t the reason why the two athletes are facing a suspension, no matter who wins.

As reported by the Mirror, Paul said it was his opponent who pushed for the match to be a professional contest, instead of an exhibition.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation since implemented a condition that the duo would be suspended for rest for a minimum of seven days.
Regulations reportedly state that each boxer will be told to rest for three days for per round fought.
This means that they are both facing a maximum of 24 days rest, given that the pair will meet over eight rounds.
Also, if any of the fighters lose by technical knockout (TKO), the beaten boxer will be suspended for a minimum of 30 days.

The regulations state: “Medical disqualification of a contestant is for their own safety and may be made at the recommendation of the examining physician or TDLR.
“A contestant who disagrees with a medical disqualification, medical suspension or rest period set at the discretion of a ringside physician or a disqualification or suspension set by the department may request a hearing to show proof of fitness.”
Despite the potential ban, you’d think that neither Paul or Tyson will likely fight again within such a short period of time.

Despite being slated to take place this summer, Jake Paul is finally set to take on legendary boxer Mike Tyson. And for the first time ever, the boxing match will be shown live solely on Netflix.
This is the streaming giant’s inaugural foray into broadcasting live combat sports on the platform. And if you already have Netflix, you’ll be happy to know that there is no extra cost to watch the fight. Or, you could even technically watch it for free by signing up to a certain deal. How to watch Paul vs. Tyson
If you don’t already have Netflix, there is a workaround to essentially get it for free as part of a package deal. So, if you were already thinking about switching your broadband or trying out Sky TV, doing so via this deal makes a lot of sense.
If you’d prefer to sign up for Netflix just to watch the fight, Netflix does have a budget-friendly option, costing less than a fiver a month. This means you could sign up for one month and only have to pay £4.99 to watch the bout. It is worth mentioning that this option does include adverts but two devices in your household can watch Netflix at the same time, making it a good option if someone would prefer to watch something other than the boxing that evening.
If you don’t want adverts to interrupt the action, there’s the Standard plan, which comes with all the same benefits but without any ads, for £10.99 a month. Or, if you want the most premium option, the £17.99 a month package allows you to watch on four devices at the same time and has a 4K (Ultra HD) + HDR resolution.

What to know about the fight
The fight, which will be sanctioned as a professional bout and contested over eight two-minute rounds, marks Tyson’s return to the ring after four years.
And given that the showdown was originally postponed on medical advice, after Tyson reportedly became unwell while aboard a flight from Miami to Los Angeles earlier this summer, it will be interesting to see if this changes anything.
While it was ultimately blamed on an ulcer flare up, with the fight being pushed back to allow him to recover, his last exhibition match was back in 2020, with his last professional fight taking place back in 2005.
In contrast, Paul’s last fight was earlier this year when he beat American boxer Ryan Bourland in a first round knock-out.
As the youngest Heavyweight Champion in history, Tyson has a record of 50 wins and 6 losses over his 20-year career, with 44 of those wins being knock-outs. While YouTuber and former WWE Champion, Paul, has won nine fights – of which six were knockouts – with one loss.
Paul also has the height advantage at 6ft 1in compared to Tyson’s 5ft 10in frame. But given that all but one of Tyson’s former opponents were taller than him, this might not be as concerning as it sounds. Despite Tyson’s experience and storied career, the biggest factor could be their 30 year age difference. But time will tell exactly what kind of impact this will have on the fight.

The highly anticipated bout will be held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. And it isn’t the only matchup on the card. In the co-main event, undisputed super lightweight world champion Katie Taylor is set for a rematch against unified featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano.

Mike Tyson has confirmed an important rule about his upcoming bout against Jake Paul and boxing fans aren’t best pleased.
If you’ve been following boxing then you’ll almost certainly have heard that YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul will be stepping into the ring with Mike Tyson later on this year.
The 27-year-old will step into the ring at the AT&T Stadium in Texas with Tyson just a few weeks after the venerable former boxer turns 58.
Tyson’s last fight was an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr in 2020, which was scored as a draw.
While there’s been much anticipation of the fight there’s also been concerns from boxing fans that they might be served up a ‘sparring session’ that’s ‘not gonna be a real fight’.
Now Tyson has confirmed an important detail about the fight, and it might not be what boxing fans wanted to hear.

Speaking to Fox News, he said: “This is called an exhibition, but if you look up exhibition, you won’t see any of the laws we’re fighting under.
“This is a fight. I don’t think he’s faster than me. I’ve seen a YouTube video of him at 16 doing weird dancing. That’s not the guy I’m fighting.
“This is a guy who’s going to try and hurt me, which I’m accustomed to, and he’s going to be greatly mistaken.
“Right now, I’m scared to death. As the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become because it’s reality, and in reality I’m invincible.”
With Tyson confirming the fight will be an exhibition it means the result won’t go on either boxer’s record, and the rules of the fight are more flexible when it’s an exhibition bout.

Exhibition fights can change the number of rounds and indeed the length of the rounds which make up the fight.
Boxing fans are hoping that despite it being an exhibition bout Paul vs Tyson sticks to ‘real boxing rules’ and is an ‘actual fight where they can knock each other out’.
Someone else said ‘ain’t no one watching’ while another dubbed the bout ‘Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather again but with different fighters’.
If you remember the aftermath of that fight Mayweather was keen to stress ‘there’s a difference between a real fight and an exhibition’ and claimed he’d have won by knockout in the first round had it been a ‘real fight’.
Ahead of the Paul vs Tyson fight, there have been rumours swirling around that rounds would last two minutes instead of three and the boxers would be throwing punches with 160z gloves.
Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, recently hit out at the ‘fake’ claims over how the fight would go.
Meanwhile, Paul himself has had to shoot down claims that he’d get to wear headgear and tag his brother into the fight if things started going wrong, saying some of the things people were claiming about the fight were ‘f**king absurd’.
Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul will take place on 20 July and will be streamed live on Netflix.
